Where the Hills Dream
There's something almost magical about the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia. They've always reminded me a little of Brigadoon, that mythical Scottish village that appears out of the mist. I've struggled to capture that feeling in paint, but experimenting with abstract realism has allowed me to loosen my grip on what the landscape looks like and focus more on how it feels. A little bit real, a little bit imagined.
